Testimonials

Hello! Thank you for visiting The my website; I am Poppy, founder of The hazlebury kitchen. Here is a little bit about me and my world.

I grew up in Suffolk on a farm where life outdoors foraging, home brewing and rearing sheep became second nature. I started experimenting with cakes as a little child with my Granny Betty using home-grown and foraged ingredients. My love for baking along with my love for nature inspired me to start The Hazlebury Kitchen, I am very proud that I have managed to create a thriving bespoke home wedding cake business where my taste for flavour, eye for design and personal service are upheld in equal measure.

I love using seasonal and where possible home-grown ingredients and take pride in exclusively using home-grown eggs from my mother-in-law’s free range chickens. Look out for home-grown raspberries, blackberries, red currents, apples, elderflower cordial and edible flowers- all grown in suffolk!

At The Hazlebury Kitchen, I create beautiful wedding cakes that not only look stunning, but taste totally scrumptious. Each wedding cake is truly bespoke; the bride and groom can fine tune their ideas and visions, and together we can design a beautifully natural and unique wedding cake by chosing as many flavours as there are tiers and the couples choice of fresh flower, berries and decorations.

I take my responsibility for looking after Planet Earth very seriously. I run The Hazlebury Kitchen with as little impact to the environment as possible; by using homegrown eggs, berries and cordials, locally milled flour and British butter, I ensure top quality and low food-miles. Cake by cake, I am striving for as little waste as possible by opting for a ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ approach with my packaging. I ask that my customers follow this supply chain by resuing their cake boards and cake boxes again and again!
